The component bar is a GUI element found in design mode that allows the user to choose and place blocks on the work area.

Blocks are added to the work area by dragging the icon of the desired block and dropping it on the work area.

The blocks are grouped by functional categories. The "All" category shows all available blocks. You show the contents of a category by clicking on its name. Scrolling is done by either using the arrows in the component bar or by using the scroll wheel on your mouse.

Hovering the mouse pointer above a block icon displays a tool tip containing a brief description of the block.
