The validation pane is a GUI element available in design mode, training mode and postprocessing mode. It shows the current status of the system, alerts the user of errors and keeps a log of past events.

Validation

Synapse performs real-time validation and error checking alerting the user of errors and issuing warnings of potential problems. These are found in the first tab in the validation pane, marked "validation".

Once the errors or warnings have been resolved they disappear from the validation list. The validation messages are assigned an error level.

The scale consists of five color-coded error levels, which are intended to reflect the potential gravity of an error/warning.

  • Severe (red): severe impact
  • High (orange): high impact
  • Elevated (yellow): significant impact
  • Guarded (blue): general warning
  • Low (green): message

The severe and high levels indicate an error that prevents the system from executing. The elevated error is a strong warning that the system may malfunction. The guarded level is a warning that the system may not function as intended. The low level is a message level that can carry non-critical suggestions.

You can chose which levels you wish to see by clicking on one of the filter buttons.

Event log

Synapse keeps an event log of all the events that the system spawns. These are shown with time stamp under the "Event Log" tab. The event log is cleared when a new solution is created or loaded.

The event log is connected to the general Synapse log system.
